How our Book Clubs work

1. Independent Learning

Before each of our online meetings, you will:

  • Read the Assigned Pages

  • Watch a short video related to the weekly reading

  • Answer Grammar and Comprehension Questions: As you read, you will answer a few grammar and comprehension questions to test your understanding.

  • Practice new vocabulary words each day with our class Quizlet

  • Writing Activities: Complete the assigned writing activities based on the weekly reading.

2. Share your Ideas (Group Discussion)

Find out what your classmates think!

  • Write and Post Your Ideas: Complete a short writing task related to the assigned reading and post it in our online classroom.

  • Engage with Classmates: Read your classmates' opinions and share your reactions. Do you agree or disagree with what they have to say? Can you expand on their idea? This prepares you for the live discussion!

3. Group meeting (Speaking Practice)

Time for our discussion circle! We meet each week in a video call.

  • Speak with the instructor and other students, share your opinions, and discuss your ideas about the weekly reading.

4. Improve through feedback

See what mistakes you have made after each session and learn what to do better next time. This is the quickest way to improve your English!

  • Receive Corrections: Your instructor will return your written answers with personal feedback and corrections. If there was a mistake you repeated several times during the discussion circle meeting, your instructor will provide feedback after. Identify where you made mistakes and learn how to improve next time.
